We have a team of about twenty fire men who work with us on this project and they volunteer not only to go and do training of fire fighters but spend a lot of time sourcing and fitting up the engines to go. We also have established a relationship with the new Scottish Fire service and with an organisation called UK RO who are experts in road traffic incidents. Also recently we have become a member of Fire Aid which is an umbrella organisation of charities and others who work to send emergency vehicles and know how overseas to areas in need.
OUR FIRE ENGINES HAVE SAVED 700 LIVES!
Since 2007 Blythswood Care has provided Fire Engines and Ambulances to Serbia, Moldova and Romania where the need is greatest. Local firefighters are trained in the use of the life-saving equipment provided.
Many lives are saved each year and many more serious injuries avoided through the availability of these essential vehicles.
YOUR HELP CAN SAVE LIVES.
There is an URGENT need for fire engines and equipment in Moldova. We need to raise funds to send at least one Fire Engine to Moldova to replace their badly outdated and broken equipment. The cost of each Fire Engine is £2500 and our initial target is £2500.
WITH YOUR HELP WE CAN SEND LIFESAVING EQUIPMENT TO EASTERN EUROPE.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
In 2014 we sent four engines and two ambulances to Moldova. When we were there, we discovered that one of the very first engines we delivered to Moldova had developed a crack in its chassis; this was inspected by our team mechanic and his advice was that it was beyond repair. It was no shame to the machine or how it was looked after, the problem is the roads and also it is in a busy station. So we want to replace it, then the fire service there would use the damaged engine as spares for the other engines we have already sent out.
