One of Blythswood ‘s ongoing projects with Sathyam Ministries is the construction of Sathyanikethan Special School or ‘Justin's Home'. The Sathyanikethan Special School provides education and special training for children with mental and physical disabilities. Their motto "accept my abilities, not my disabilities" is the centre stone of the school, which allows many children to become self-sufficient over time.
Blythswood Care has been working closely with Sathyam Ministries, India for many years sharing the same vision.
Sathyam Ministries is an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of people and communities by showing God's love and care for individuals. Sathyam Ministries strive to renew the dignity and self-worth of the down-trodden in society, irrespective of their religion, caste, creed, race or gender.
This facility not only allows children to receive an education, have a secure and comfortable living space, it also couples up as a teacher training facility to allow people from across India to be trained and eventually qualified to work with people who have disabilities.
Blythswood has funded the construction of the substructure and ground floor of ‘Justin's Home'. As well as fundraising for the furnishings to allow the school to operate whilst Phase 2 of the project begins.
The total cost for building Justin's Home is £235,000 with £150,000 having been raised and sent so far. We and Sathyam have gone ahead in faith with the development of Justin's Home which will be built in phases as funds are raised.
Phase 1 was officially opened in February 2012 and the children can now benefit from this new facility.
Phase 2 consists of a first and second floor being added to Justin's Home which will allow for triple the occupancy.
