BUCKETS OF LOVE

Buckets of Love for Schools Week.

The Buckets of Love project involves your school filling buckets with aid-relief items for families living in extreme pov- erty throughout Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. We provide your school with the number of buckets you request. You are asked to fill each bucket with 26 specific items which will make a huge difference to families who have very little.

One way your school can participate in the Buckets of Love appeal week, is by filling one bucket per class. There are 26 items on the Buckets of Love shopping list, which are stated in this leaflet. Therefore each child can be responsible for bringing one particular item into school, to place into the class bucket. This way, each class are filling one bucket for a family living in extreme poverty.

It is also possible for your pupils to fill their own buckets at home with their parents / guardians. This decision is left to the school's discretion.

Once we have collected your filled buckets after the appeal week dates, your school will receive the The Global Citizen Award 2012

Buckets of Love Offering Sunday

Blythswood Care is launching the Buckets of Love Appeal on Sunday 4th March.  This is an opportunity for all churches to donate towards the project.  There are a number of ways you and your church fellowship can support this appeal.

Firstly, your church could make an offering towards the Buckets of Love appeal on Sunday 4th March. The donated funds will be sent to our partners in India and Pakistan.  Your donation will help to fill buckets within India and Pakistan with the 26 aid-relief items on the Buckets of Love shopping list.  These buckets are then distributed to those living in the Slums. Fill a Bucket and Meet a Need

After a successful campaign in 2011 filled buckets were sent to Albania, Moldova, Romania and Serbia.  Through money raised buckets were filled distributed in India and Pakistan reaching those affected by disasters.

Nearly 1 billion people live in abject poverty in the slums of Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.  In these areas many families struggle to survive in the harsh conditions.  Yet it only takes something very small to brighten their day; a piece of string, or a yard of duct tape to patch up a leaky roof, a first aid plaster to cover a child's cut, a needle and thread to mend clothes that are falling apart, a yo-yo to make a child smile...and a bucket to hold fresh water.

You can make a big difference for one or more families by providing the funds for us to make up more buckets

Buckets of Love is a fun and easy way for you or the whole family to get involved and give a bucket filled with everyday items that we in our privileged society can take for granted.
